We explore how their multiple roles and intersectional identities influence their experiences with and navigation of US institutions, highlighting the challenges and triumphs. Love Sent Across Seas, Exhibit Opening, Penn Museum, Philadelphia

Love Sent Across Seas is a pop-up exhibition curated by Miranda Alexander and Alissa Jordan. The exhibition centered on the barrel as an object of connection between the Caribbean and the US. A barrel is used to transport items from the US to other countries. Many Caribbean immigrants and refugees carefully and thoughtfully pack their barrels for their love ones. The first screening of the documentary "Island Roots, Farrin' Dreams: Caribbean Immigrant Narratives' of the Journey" was held at this exhibition.
